Zithromax belongs to a subclass of macrolide antibiotics. It is used for treating mild or moderate infections caused by certain bacteria. Zithromax is especially effective against such microorganisms as: staphylococcus aureus, haemophilus ducreyi, moraxella catarrhalis, neisseria gonorrhoeae, chlamydia pneumoniae, helicobacter pylori.
